Shelly- My Paper Love

Apples and Honey... This week was the beginning of Rosh Hashanah. While maintained to be a Jewish holiday, it is part of the "missed or lost understanding" of our Christian (Hebraic) roots. Among some of the items eaten during this festival, apples and honey are consumed to symbolize a sweet new year.  So happy new year or  L'shanah tovah!  We are designing projects with apples and honey for this week's challenge.  Once again you have until next Tuesday at midnight to post your projects.  One winner chosen at random will receive his or her choice of digi stamp or cutting file from Papercraftingworld.com.

Have a wonderful day!

Challenge #53: Apples & Honey

Today is the beginning of Rosh Hashanah. While maintained to be a Jewish holiday, it is part of the "missed or lost understanding" of our Christian (Hebraic) roots. Among some of the items eaten during this festival, apples and honey are consumed to symbolize a sweet new year.  So happy new year or  L'shanah tovah!

Here are the sweet apple and honey projects our Design Team came up with!

Dalis used Doodlecharms and George & Basic Shapes cartridges to
create this super cute card.  Make sure you check her blog for the details!

Jen created two 12x12 scrapbook layouts for today's challenge.
The first uses the "Just Because" Cards and Walk in My Garden cartridges.

The second uses the "Just Because" Cards and Doodlecharms cartridges.
Make sure you check out her blog for the "sweet" details!

Melin created this layout using the Heritage, Give a Hoot and Plantin School Book Cartridges.

Melin created this layout using the Plantin School Book Cartridge, a PIE SVG file from PaperCraftingWorld and a Lifestyle Crafts (formerly Quickutz) decorative border die.

Melin created this layout using the  Just Because, Forever Young and Lyrical Letters Cartridges.

Here is a close up of the little honey bee holding his honey pot. The honey pot is from the Just Because cartridge and the Honey Bee is from Lyrical Letters and George and Basic Shapes. I did use the Gypsy to do some welding but he could be reproduced without the Gypsy as well.

Quick Quotes Project

Good morning crafty friends,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with relaxation and all kinds of crafty goodness! I wanted to share a project today that I created for the fabulous Quick Quotes Design Team. Here it is!

Here is a close up of the smaller photo mats and the vellum quote.

Here is the layout Recipe:
I used the Quick Quotes Club Q kit from August. It contained the bracket frames, chipboard butterfly as well as the beautiful Miss Morgan Designer Paper.
Note: When this kit is sold out, you can easily recreate this layout by purchasing the beautiful Miss Morgan papers and utilizing your Cricut to cut out the bracket frames and butterflies.

I used my Midnight Confessions and Purple Passion Powder Puff Chalk Inks to ink the edges of the mattes the the flowers.
I used Light, Medium and Dark Purple Bazzill cardstock as well as brown and white.
I used my Lovely Floral Cricut Cartridge to cut the flourishes and the Bloom Cartridge for the flowers.
The cardstock Butterflies, and borders were created from some punches. I finished off the chipboard butterfly with some distress stickles.

Lastly, the beautiful quote is from the Babies, Kids and Families Itty Bitty quote box set.

Now head over to the QQ blog to see what the other designers are up to and enter our Fabulous Friday Challenge.

Challenge #52: The Colors of Autumn

Happy Wednesday and welcome to challenge day at Cooking With Cricut!  The Design Team was challenged to use the colors of autumn in their projects this week -- red, orange, yellow, brown, and/or green.  With the offical start of autumn coming up on Thursday, I am certain that cooler weather and beautiful leaves are on their way for some of you out there!  However, here in sunny Florida it is still hot and muggy, with the occasional cool morning.  Happy Fall, y'all!

This is Stacey's last Design Team Project.  We wish her well ~
she will be missed!  Stacey used the Cricut Lite Bloom cartridge.
Make sure you check out her blog for the details on this lovely card.

Madison used Kate's ABCs cartridge for this super cute
birthday card.  Check out all the details on her blog.

Gaby used the Christmas and Pooh & Friends cartridges for her Fall sign.
Hop on over to her blog for the recipe!

Jen used the Create-A-Critter cartridge for her Fall wreath.
Check out her blog for the details!

Melin used the Elegant Edges and Cake Basics Cartridges to create this layout.

Here is a close up of the Cricut cuts. The border and Circles are from Elegant Edges.
The Butterfly, inner circles and leafy flourishes are from Cake Basics.
The Designer Paper is from Quick Quotes Khaki Collection
The Red Shimmery Sheer Ribbon is also from Quick Quotes as well as the quote below. The quote is from their Itty Bitty Quote Box: Babies, Kids and Family.
I inked the edges of most of the elements with either the Midnight Confessions or Amaretto Powder Puff Chalk Inks by QQ.
Lastly I used some Green, Goldenrod White and Brown Bazzill Cardstock and some Cinnamon and Red Stickles.
