Welcome to the Fruit of the Spirit Blog Hop presented by Paper Tree House Studio!  If you have been following the hop then you should be arriving here from Carolyn’s blog.  If you just came across this hop, then go to Paper Tree House to catch the beginning of the hop.



Every month we will gather to make the Name of the Lord famous and to share the talents we have been given by Him.  We also like to share a little bit of Truth that we have learned from the Bible and/or a bit about how He has impacted our lives.  This month the theme is “The Fruit of the Spirit”.



As Christians we are expected to demonstrate the Fruit of the Spirit because the Spirit of God abides in us.  In Galatians 5:22-23 we find the following definition: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”  There are many misconceptions about this fruit.  People look at the list of attributes and they are convinced that God has not given them one of the “fruits”, and so they live with remaining sin and a sense of defeat in certain areas of their lives.



If you look at the passage again you will notice that the word FRUIT is NOT plural.  It is only ONE fruit, so if the Spirit of the Lord abides in you, then the attributes that characterize the Spirit live there as well.  If you are not experiencing one of the characteristic of His Spirit in your life, pray that the Lord would cleanse you and purify you.  He is into the business of completing those He saves.  My prayer is that you would draw near to the Lord and that He in turn will draw near to you…

I used some cutting files I created to make these as well as the scallop, leaves, large butterfly and flourishes. The two small butterflies are from an MS punch.

The flowers and butterflies actually started out as plain white die cuts. I used some Glimmer Mist to give them that soft yellow appearance and then inked the edges with a Warm Red Cat’s Eye Chalk Ink pad. I finished the centers with some Yellow Stickles.

I used Base Camp and Walk In My Garden to complete this layout.

Here is a close up of one of the flowers from Walk In My Garden.

Here is a layout I created for this challenge. I realize it doesn’t look as “Springy” as it really is. It photographed darker. The pink is a light pink. This is one of those layouts I like to call a “One Hit Wonder” In other words, all the flowers, leaves and sentiment came from one cartridge. The cartridge was the Bloom Lite Cartridge. This also fit nicely into this week’s Cricut challenge at Simply Scrapping. Be sure to head over there and enter in the Cricutlicious fun there too!

Earth Day It’s My Birthday Blog Hop

Here is a view of the entire layout. I used my Cricut to cut out these adorable little Turtles, the Flower Spray and the Super Cute tree. The cutting files will be available at PaperCraftingWorld.com by Saturday(tomorrow). The gorgeous patterned paper is from Quick Quotes. It is their new Mary's Garden Collection. It just looked like the perfect paper for this project!

Here is a close up of the "appliciously" cute tree. Even the apples have little bows :) I used Quick Quote's Green Tea Chalk Ink to edge the tree. It complimented their paper perfectly! What a great value too! Only $2.49 and let me tell you this will last you AWHILE!
