Cartridge Showcase: Sports Mania

Happy Monday and welcome to Cooking With Cricut's Cartridge Showcase!

Today Chef Debbie is featuring an oldie, but goodie -- the Sports Mania cartridge.  This cartridge is perfect for keeping up with all the sports fans in your life. From basketball to tennis, these energetic images can be used for all of your scrapbook layouts, party decorations, and other craft projects.  It includes: Layer, Frame, Border, Background, Shadow, and Blackout creative features.

Sports Mania is one of my first and favorite Cricut cartridges I purchased and with two  boys who play multiple sports, it has come in handy on many occasions. Here are a few projects that I have made:

Easy and Quick Gift Card Box

I used Sports Mania to cut out two footballs to decorate this little gift box (I used Art Philosophy for the box but you could find a template online or use another cartridge).  I embossed the footballs after I cut them and then I ran them through my Xyron to ensure they would stick completely.  I finished off the box with some football ribbon J  This is for a gift card for my son’s football coach.

Football Coach’s Card --

Using Sports Mania, I welded two helmets together to make this card for my other son's football coach.  I used Varsity Letter for the letters and Four Legged Friends for the paw (I altered it a little in Cricut Craft Room).  You can find this post here.

Note Cards for my boys --

I used Sports Mania to make the basketball and football note cards for my boys to pack in their snacks for each day during a week my husband and I were away on a trip.  I wrote little notes on the backsides of each one.  You can find this blog post here.

Champs Pillowbox --

I made this pillowbox and using my Gypsy cut out the word "Champs" then placed a white piece of paper on the inside.  I used Sports Mania for the baseball bat.  This blog post is here.

Sports Birthday Banner --

I used Sports Mania to make this banner for my son’s 8th birthday party.  We did a water baseball theme.  I used Varsity Letters for the letters for this name, but used Sports Mania for the pennants, baseball, glove and bat!  This post is right here!

Baseball gloves for cupcakes --

On two occasions I used the baseball gloves for cupcakes.  In the first one, I made cupcakes inside ice cream cones.  Then I cut the baseball gloves and punched a hole in them and put the cone through.  In the second instance, I cut small gloves and just set small cupcakes decorated like baseballs on them.  You can find these posts here and here.

Shaped Cards --

I have used Sports Mania to make shaped cards also.  In this instance I did a basketball for the coach, but I have also made footballs, baseballs and even a hockey puck for birthday parties.

 Hockey Paper Doll --

The last project I will share today is from when my son had to create a “paper” doll for international night at school.  He was doing Canada and wanted to do a Vancouver Canuck.  We printed some stuff off of the computer, but used my Cricut for the Hockey Skates and his helmet.  Here is the post. Too cute, right!  TFL.
