NOW, onto my Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Creation for this week.
Our assignment for this week was: The GREAT OUTDOORS!
So here's my take on this challenge. I created the little Smore Guy from Camping Out. The letters were from Simply Sweet.

Here is a close up of the cute little "Cricut Version" Smore Guy!

Now here is my version. I used the Simply Sweet Cartridge for the lettering and created the Smore Guy in this one. I had done him originally and then decided to try and find cuts on my carts that were close enough to create a "Cricut" version.
Here's a closeup of my original version. This one can be cut from the Cricut with SCAL or MTC software and no cartridge.
Well that's it for today. Be sure to drop by the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and enter your Great Outdoors Project! There is a nice prize up for grabs!

Thank you for stopping by :-) I will be back soon with more fun stuff! Please stay tuned!

  9. So cute!!! :)

I also wanted to let you know that your "Grab my Button" code lists your blog as "WWW.cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com" instead of "http://cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com". This make the link invalid - I found your button on another blog and it took me to an error screen - "Blog not found".

Just wanted to let you know so you could fix it. :)

  11. Hi, I just stumbled upon your website by accident and I am in love with it! I make a lot of things for my preschool class and have always avoided people and animals because I couldn't do their faces. You are my hero(ine)! I can't wait to cut some things for my class now and make the faces up! Also, I was so overwhelmed with your blog that I am not sure, but how do you cut out most of the animals you have for your projects? Are the Cricut files, svg files, do you just cut them out by hand or what? I would love to know. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with the world!

  12. Scrappy Mel:
Thank you for letting me know about my button. I will have to fix that :-)

Laura: Thank you for kind words. I am sorry you were overwhelmed by the content. To answer your question: Most of my "original" animals are files that I created. BUT I have since begun to try and use my Cartridges to see what I can come up with using the available cuts. When I post, I try to tell folks where the paper piecing came from. If I say it's a file I created, then it's just that. Or I will say "I cut this from....xxxcartridge" Then you know the majority of the piecing came from that cartridge. Hope that clears it up for you:-) Thank you again for your stopping by! Please be sure to keep visiting back! Melin

  15. Thank you ladies for all your wonderful comments. Kate, the reason you may not have seen him, is that he is a compilation of a few different cuts from the Camping Out cartridge. He is what I call: Cricut Art....Much Like Punch Art. Or as it is really know as....paper piecing :-) Hope that helps...Melin
